bringing up the POI
I've got a Lama Mini-max 45 here that shoots inches low at 5 yards. How can I bring up the POI? Shorter front sight i know will work, or taller rear, but anything else? keep in mind it is a Llama, so we're working on the cheap.

Sounds like I'm being an a$$, but aim high. Fixed sites are gonna be off. You site them in to know how much to compensate the sites. I have a full size llama (off a good bit)and do the same. I would think it to be worse with the smaller mdl.[:)] Earl 0 -
What kind of ammo are you using? Have you tried a different ammo...perhaps with a lighter slug?
Have you fired it from a rest to see if it's not you pulling the shot down?
Adjustable elevation rear sight might help.
Switch to a shorter front sight or grind down existing sight a bit.
Does this model pistol have a barrel bushing? Is it tight with the barrel?

Like bobski and others said. Wolf and other ammo and also the weight of the slug, even the manufacturer (similiar weight/shape) of slug can drastically change POI. And as bobski says bench to get reliable, repetive conditions. 0 -
it has been shot from a rest. 3 inches low.
someone else shot it from a rest. same pattern, same place.
this gun has no barrel bushing.
i didnt want to grind the front sight, but it looks like i may have to.

inches low at a mere 5 yds of range is pretty drastic. Get a taller rear sight. Dont cut the front sight. It's already too low for fast work, in most cases. 0
