7.65 L ???

My brother called me a few minutes ago and was telling me about an old miltary pistol his friend bought.
He says it is a 1938 Mac that is chambered in something called 7.65L.
Anyone know anything about this pistol such as where it was made or even if ammo is still available for it??
I asked him to give me more details but as we were talking his friend had already left his house.
Any idea if it's worth anything??

    It's a Model 1935A French Military Pistol. If fires a cartridge only used by the French, ( 7.65 Long ). Ammo is very difficult to come by, and expensive when you do find it. The pistols themselves are excellent quality, but without a reliable source of ammo are hard to move. If the pistol is arsenal original, very good to excellent condition, you might find a collector who would want it?

    Old west scrounger had some a while back , ordered some for a customer , had a 2nd box in the shop ??? but Im stuck @ a LEO training academy for the next three (3) weeks , so dont know if its still hanging around or not ??? it was pricey!!!!

    P.S. the customers pistol that I saw seemed to be of fair quality, & did NOT work with reg. 7.62(.32 auto)type ammo (Go figure!)?????

    The 7,65 Longue (or MAS) is the same as the ever popular .30 Pederson, at least in cartridge dimensions.
    Now that's a great rifle-pistol combination.
    I doubt the convenience of a single cartridge for both rifle and pistol would be worth the trouble in this case.

    I think I still have one box of this ammo available, but I would need to check for sure. It is custom made and is boxer primed, reloadable. As for the price, I remember that it isn't cheap, but I will need to access the box to refresh my memory on the price. In general the ammo isn't readily available and hasn't been for years. It was hard to find even 15-20 years ago. What I have came from another dealer's estate.

    The guns themselves aren't terribly expensive as a rule. Much of that is due to the lack of available ammunition for them. They have come in through the various importers a number of times over the past several decades. They are a neat gun, but due to the lack of ammo availability, I have found them to be not very popular in general. If someone would come up with a large supply of ammo for them at a cheap price, I'm sure they would catch a number of people's interest.
