I am looking for a good..not great scopr for a Winchester Model 70 30-06. The P.O.S on it now has such a narrow field of view. I would like one that allows for more of a full field view. Any suggestions?

    I bought a ART II scope and it looks to be in good shape.
    Can any body tell me who made it,and any value. The only thing I can see wrong with it is a little foging on the lense.Is there any body who can work on it?

    I would say taller rings,if shimming you should do both front and rear.[:)]

    Taller rings is really the only way to go. I used to buy Simmons scopes. I am sending the last of them back to be replaced/repaired. As soon as they send me the replacement I will be doing just like I've done for the last two, listing it for auction. I'm guessing, from past experience, that your scope will last about 75 or 100 shots and then fail just about the time you think you've got it nailed. If you are lucky it will fail sooner. You'll be needing to send a check for $10 to

    Note, the rings you have will probably work with a 40mm bell but not with the 44mm that is probably on your Simmons scope.
