sighting a 44magnum
What's your preferred distance to sight a 44 magnum revolver?

It depends on your intended use. I use my 6" Colt Anaconda mainly for Whitetail hunting. Most of the shots I have taken have been between 5 and 75 yards. I sighted mine in at 50 yards figuring this will pretty well covers me for my hunting needs.
I do practice out to 100 yards. but doubt I would take a shot of that distance due to the area where I hunt.

As far as you can hit a coffee can holding the gun ONE HANDED NRA bullseye style with the first shot. For most folks that is 20 to 25 yards. If you feel you have a good shooting record then 50 yards is fine. Most shooters can't hit the barn past 75 yards. 0 -
william are you using a scope?
I also have an anaconda without a scope and i was thinking on taking it to my deer lease.0 -
I am currently using a Tasco PPII Red Dot sight. I had a Leupold
M8-2X on it in the past. The Red Dot sight is easier for my old eyes to get on target and faster on follow up shots.
