The .22 caliber toting Sheriff ....PROOF

This is an C&P Extract from a letter about my brother-inlaw's grandfather

Granddad Martin as they say was CARL MARTIN. He was Union County, Georgia Sheriff in the 1950's but, I am not sure of when to when. I might be able to find out though.

Below is the info on the .22 he carried as his duty gun. Bob said he has pictures of his grandad wearing the pistol while standing next to a tractor.

Info inside the frame:
K361035
M00-17

Info on cylinder hinge:
24097
7 5

Info on the butt:
K 361035 (same as above)

Does any one have any information on this S&W .22 that I can pass on to my Brother in law for historical intrest.

    Per the S & W Book it was made in 1959. Since all the various K frame models of that era were in one serial number range, it would be very difficult to be more specific. Perhaps it would be possible for your family to obtain a letter from S & W with more relevant imformation?
