recrowning a chrome lined bore?

One of my rifles has a good ding right on the muzzle and yes its a chromed bore ,I have heard some folks say you need special tools for this chrome lining others said it will ruin the barrel and say not to do it??? is this why some smiths charge extra money for the job. Who's correct?

  Hard crome is not very nice to cutting tools.
  Generally it's not advised, but in your case it needs to be done
  if the rifle is still shooting good, don't bother, other wise do it.
  
  Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.

  just touching up the crown shouldn't hurt the jig with the limited time it will be cutting.
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

  thanks for the advice .ya the accuracy has droped some but dont know if its worth spending the extra money on a ordinary plinker.
