Encore Questions...
Well My dad talked me into either the Encore or the Omega and I'm leaning towards the Encore...it feels great...i like it...kind of pricey...I was thinking about buying a stainless 209x50, I really was hoping for a synethetic stock but any stock will do...what would be common price range for one used in fairly good shape...i mean nothing broken, still decent bore...i was thinking about trading my marlin 336 in towards one and paying the difference...Also my other question was...to clean it you have to take off the forearm to get that primer thing i think its the extractor...not 100 percent sure...well to get it out you have to take off the forearm...correct?...well doesnt' this mean you would have to resight in the gun after taking off the forearm?...or does the barrel and scope still stay zeroed after removing the forearm?...i just don't understand...you sight it in...then have to take it apart to clean it....but then have to resight it in...then clean it again...mayb im wrong...but that sure sounds like a viscious cycle to me...lol but please...give me some tips..thanks in advance!

Buy a primer extractor adapter from Cabela's for about $18 and you will no longer have to take the barrel off to remove the breech plug for cleaning. If you do remove the barrel and replace it after cleaning, it will still be sighted in as the sights/scope are on the barrel, not the action. The Encore is a great choice. My friend bought one in .50 caliber for $299 with a scope. It was used with a synthetic stock. You will see some used for sale as hunters go to the newer designs in muzzleloaders. I don't have a T/C Encore as I hunt with sidelocks mostly. A good used sidelock like the T/C Hawken or Renegade can be purchased cheaply now and are entirely satisfactory for hunting. Good luck on your Encore quest, I think you will be very happy with it. My friend loves his and has bought a couple extra centerfire barrels as well. Good luck!

SHOOTER07, You will be pleased with the Encore. I have had mine for about 6 years and it is a great gun. I got mine with the synthetic stock and blue barrel for $459 NIB. TWALKER's buddy got a helluva deal for $299 w/scope. TWALKER is correct, the scope mounts directly to the barrel and you can take the barrel off and it does not affect accuracy. I still have the original extractor from the factory because I like to take mine completely apart to clean anyway.

I got my ENCORE recently too. It is a great rifle easy to clean and very accurate. I put 3 black powder shots into a clover leaf group at 100 yards using the factory sights!
Once you get an Encore frame any caliber you want is available for a couple hundred bucks. You can have every caliber you ever wanted, and some you don't need.0 -
A SS Encore will run you over $500 . You Marlin depending on its condition and weather it has glass or not will effect its trade in value.
The gun itself on a trade is about $150.00 . Sell it outright and get more of course. In my opinion the Encore or Omega are the best inline muzzleloaders you can buy.0 -

unless you plan on buying different barrels, i think i would go with the omega. they are cheaper and i think they look better. my friend has the encore and every time he changes the barrel, he has to sight the gun back in. i have never been impressed with the encores or the contenders. i'd rather have a remington 700 and an omega. just my opinion.

bperdue21...What is your friend doing that he has to rezero[?] I have over 50+ barrels and never had to sight them in after changeing them.

i have no idea, he has a scope on each barrel. so i would think it should stay zeroed. i think he just has two barrels, a 30-06 and .50. someone else told me they had to sight them back in, but i can't remember who it was.
