Lands diameter on a Mini 30

I hope this question is not to dumb, but I was told that the bore/lands diameter on an SKS / AK47 7.62X39 is not a true .308, more like a .310
My question is what bore/Lands size does Ruger use for its Mini 30?

  On their earlier ones they used a .308 bore, but I think the newer ones are .311 Might find the specific info on a Ruger website

  I don't know the exact dimension, but Ruger made it to shoot everything from .308 to .311. I have always thought that was the reason that these rifles are usually not very accurate.

  The original 7.62X39 bullet is .311. Ruger wanted to use the standard US 30 cal (.300lands and .308 bore.). In order to avoid excess pressure when using .311 ammo, he increased the leade (freebore) as a cushion. Unfortunately the bullets are short with little bearing zone, and so they are likely to "tip" before entering the lands. No way to get great accuracy! Any halfway decent SKS will outshoot it.

  Does anyone know what H&R use in their 7.63X39 barrels? I was thinking about getting one for my son, but if they tried to compromise like Ruger did maybe I should forget it.

  I know it was an issue w/ some ammo makers. I haven't bought retail for quite a few years, but I used to see USA or American Eagle (can't quite remember which) 7.62X39 ammo listed with .308 bullets.
