Marlin 60 rear sight

I have a 1987 mod 60 (1333XXXX) that I bought cheap with lots of rust to practice my "smithing" skills. Is there any way to get the rear sight off to reblue the barrel and possibly upgrade sight as well?

  I reblued my barrel without taking the sight off. You can remove the sight but I dont think its upgradable.
