Bushnell 3.5-10x36 Banner
Bushnell released a new scope called the Bushnell 3.5-10x36 Banner Dusk & Dawn Rifle Scope. I would like a less expensive scope to mount on a Ruger 96/17 lever gun and carry it around on my four wheeler for the occational coyote shot. Bushnell has included a built-in drop compesation for .17HMR and .22. This is a nice feature for a quick head shot beyond 100 yards. I know alot of you professional would bring more gun and scope, but remember this is a ranch gun not a case gun to carry in the SUV. Has anyone purchased one and tried it out.

I've got a Bushnell Banner 6-18x50a/o on my A-bolt 300wsm. It seems to be a pretty good scope, its clear and bright and hasn't been beat to hell yet due to the recoil of the gun.

Same scope on my .223 heavy barrel. Good scope for the money, but it's no Leupold. My only real gripe about the Bushnell's is the thickness of the crosshairs-nearly 1/2 MOA @ 10x magnification. That said, they're hard to beat for ~$150. A Leupold 6-18x50mm is gonna cost close to $1,000. Nikon makes realy good scopes that fall somwhere in the middle, price-wise.
Since you are putting the scope on a rimfire, you are not likely to have many shots over 150 yards, so the thick crosshairs are a non-issue. I only find it bothersome when trying to drill a praire rat at 300 or 400 yards; kinda cover 'em up. I have a Bushnell 4-12x40 banner series on my .17 mach 2. I use that for rabbits with great success, usually at 120 yards or less. You'll have a little more reach with the HMR, but coyotes are pretty big.
Save the seals-club a liberal instead.0
