WTB-The BEST Pellet Rifle Known and get fast!
I've got a "Sparrow" problem that is getting to me.
Beening faced with this "In Town" living, which I've never
had to do before; changes all my first approaches.
ie. 12ga skeet load up close and personal.
Neighbors say that's noisy and supposedly against some or nother
ordinace...........me, I've never seen a ordinance that please me.
So 22LR with Suppressor has been answer #2 and working well, but
some hypocritical type 87 year old tattle tale is causing problems
with that venue.
What is and when I say "What IS" I mean WHAT IS the easiest to use,
most accurate-out of the box pellet rifle known to exist.
Price not really concern, delivery time is moreso.
Do I want 17 or 22?
Do I want a scope or just quality open sights?
I realize this is a "Mickey Mouse" request, but death must come
quickly to these crittttttttttters, so speed is of the essence.
Or something like that.
I want a pellet gun. NOW

Go down to Walmart, pick up a Crosman 760 Pumpmaster and a 4x scope, send it out to me and I'll set you up a sweet little varmint getter. I've built a couple and with a little work they will shoot very accurately and powerfully. It'll take out anything you want to point it at[8D]

You need a Benjamin in .177 cal. Its enough to kill anything from a sparrow to small four legged critters. The open sights on the gun are very good. Eight pumps with this gun will leave you a nice cloud of sparrow feathers.

CMP ATTENDANCE AT INDIANAPOLIS SHOW CANCELLED. The CMP will not have a
display at the Oct 29-30, 2005 gun show in Indianapolis as previously

Anniston, AL has been postponed until early spring 2006 due to construction
delays and employee retirement.
N-I-W GARANDS ON CMP AUCTION. The CMP has started listing some of the New In

GREEK HXP .30-06 AMMUNITION. The CMP has received a consignment of Greek
military HXP surplus .30-06 M2 Ball ammunition. This ammunition will be

USGI GARAND OPTIONS VERY LIMITED. Options for M1 Garand rifles that had
never been on loan to other countries are very limited. The only remaining
options are Springfield Armory (SA) Rack and Field Grades. The Collector,
Correct, and Service Grade USGI options are sold out and we do not have any
reason to expect that we will again have these in inventory.
GREEK HRA RACK AND FIELD GRADES SOLD OUT. Greek HRA Garands are now
available only in Collector, Correct, and Service grades. We have only
several hundred Greek HRA Garands remaining in these grades and expect to
sell out within the next few months. Greek SA are still available in all
grades.
CMP NORTH STORE SCHEDULE. The CMP North store at Camp Perry will be closed
2-4 July and will reopen for business 5 July on a seven days per week
schedule from 5 July through 18 Aug. Store will open 8:30 AM each day.
Closing time daily will vary, depending on National Match activities on any
given day.

While those Anschutz rifles would be some of the best around, I'm guessing the original poster didn't have a clue that there were such things as $1700 Olympic class air rifles, much less consider buying one for a "sparrow problem." Then again, I could be wrong.[:)] 0 -

I own a GAMO with scope and it is dead on but it is loud.0 -
go with the 760, you can have it today and it will kill small birds with no problem. the only thing is that you have to pump it. mine is very accurate. i bought the one that comes with the little 4x15 scope. it does everything i bought it for.

Hello Spring Creek: Another alternative would be going to the local Hardware store, and buying some Decon or equivelent, (poision grain)about $5.00. Works rather well, just put a little board in your tree to set it on. My neighbors don't like me shooting anything. Plus your little sparrow will fly off to die! No dead bird to mess with!

The problem with your approach is that even if you tacked on a sign that said "sparrows only" you really don't know what you are poisoning.0 -
In many jurisdictions, a pellet gun of any sort is considered a firearm and, as such, is forbidden to be used within city limits. Better check with the powers-that-be before your sparrow problem becomes a legal one. 0
