Star BM take down.
Can anyone out there tell how to take a star bm apart for cleaning?

Basic field stripping for cleaning, is very similar to that of a Browning High Power.
Here is a link to a Canadian site that shows the disassembly procedure for H.P's. Removing the slide and barrel, ( Step One ) is similar for the BM except the BM has a removeable Barrel Bushing.

Naturally, make sure pistol is unloaded, and chamber is clear.
1) Lock the slide back with the safety inserted into the foremost groove in the slide.
2) Push the button opposite from the slide stop lever, the slide stop will come out.
3) Release the safety, pull slide off forward.
4) Remove spring assembly.
5) Turn barrel bushing slightly, and pull off.
6) Remove barrel from front of slide.
Re-assembly is the opposite, but getting the slide stop back into place can be difficult, make sure it goes through hole in barrel linkage.
