CAN ANYBODY TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT FLOBERT RIFLES, PISTOLS, AND SHOTGUNS. THERE IS SUPPOSE TO BE A BOOK WRITTEN ABOUT THESE WEAPONS OUT THERE SOMEWHERE, BUT I CAN'T FIND A COPY OF IT. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH THIS SUBJECT?

  I don't have info about the book or much about Flobert history. Flobert was a Frenchman who invented his type of action around 1840, at the very beginning of the breech loading era. The original true Flobert action uses a cartridge similar to a .22 short (actually more like the .22BB) without powder, only primer, and a round ball. The action itself is composed of a heavy hammer with the firing pin on it that slams directlly on the head of the cartridge. It depends on the mass of the hammer plus its mainspring to oppose the forces of the firing cartridge. No breech block as such. They became popular for indoor target shooting with both pistols and long guns. Many exist today highly decorated, engraved, etc., typical of the toys of the well-to-do. It is worth noting that various early rimfire guns are often called 'Floberts', some with rolling block and other types of breech closure. The real Flobert is as I described, no actual closed breech. If you do an internet search such as with Google, you will find many entries that respond to the word Flobert. Hope this helps.
