MAGAZINE PROBLEMS

HI
I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH AN OLDER 7 ROUND .22 CAL. MAGAZINE OFF A MOSSBERG AUTO IF I PUT MORE THAN 2 ROUNDS IN THAY GET JAMED IN THE MAG. AND I HAVE A HECK OF A TIME GETTING THEM OUT OF THE MAG.. BUT IF I PUT JUST ONE IN IT FEEDS JUST FINE.

    I just bought an m1a. I also bought a 20 rnd thermold magazine for it, because thermold mags feed flawlessly in my ar15.
    However, the magazine will not lock into position on my m1! It simply won't, i jam it up in there as far as i can, and it looks like its locked, but then i can simply pull it out without depressing the magazine release in front of the trigger.
    In fact, it looks like the magazine release doesnt lock the magzine in for some reason, but it works fine on my factory 10 round clip.
    Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks guys.

    It sounds like the clip may have a slight dent on one of the sides.

    Another possibility is it could have crud down inside the clip. Try blowing WD-40 into it to clean it out.

    first thing to remember, you do not have a problem with a "clip". You have a problem with a "Magazine" there is a difference, and the advice that 1armbandit gave you as far as cleaning, and inspecting the mags you are working with, is probably all you will need!

    Some of the older magazines had an adapter to put shorts,long or long rifle shell in the clip.It may be set on the wrong shell.Also,there were 3 styles of those older clips as far as the shape of the front of the mag.Some were more rounded and others were more squared.

    YES IT TAKES SHORTS LONGS AND LONG RIFLE SHELLS AND IT HAS THE ROUND FRONT WITH THREE TABS ON TOP. HOW DO I AJUST FOR LONG RIFLE.

    THE LOWER SHELL IS JUST AHEAD OF THE TOP SHELL AND KEEPS IT IN THE MAGAZINE. I'm not even sure if this is the right magazine for mossberg model 353 .22 cal.. The magazine has S-L-LR ON THE SIDE. BUT THE BOOKS FOR MODEL 353 SAYS LR.
