Shotgun Forearm Identification ??

I found this in my Grand Fathers basement. Does anyone know what make and model it belongs to. I have done a little research and believe it might be an old Remington double.

  could be an iver johnson too. how about a pick of the wood on other side?

  Just curious, what makes you think it's a Remington? And, where's the rest of it? Sometimes you can part out an old gun and get more for it than you might get for the complete piece. Nothing like a little mystery.

  Hi Bobski
  Here is a photo of the other side.
  I went the remington direction because there was a patent
  of the same date by Remington. It is for a sxs 12 gauge double.
