National Fire Arms Co. Information

In June 2005, I inherited a National Fire Arms Co. 16 Ga. Shotgun previously owned by my Grandfather. Fire Arms is stamped as two seperate words on the barrel. The serial number includes A23###. There are no other markings or names or anything that would help me find information about this gun. I have not been able to find any information on this gun. If you would be able to give me any possible information about this gun, the manufacturer, or what it is worth, I would be very thankful. ANY information would help.

    I show No National Firearms Company listed in My Database of and for the above Company.
    My database does show a National Arms Company which was a Trade name used by Crescent Firearms Company (by He Dog) in the "Did You Know" Posted Topic on the Ask the Experts Forum...A follow Up letter to HeDog might prove beneficial to You...

    National Firearms Co. is one of the names used by Crescent-Davis for sxs shotguns they made. They have little collector value, haveing been made in the millions as utilitarian shotguns, and for the most they were used (and served well!). Condition and perhaps gauge affect the value, but they sell at between $100 and $250 depending upon region, primarily as wall hangers.

    I just traded off a 12 ga. pump that was marked national arms it was the same as my 1898 12 ga marlin i used some of the parts in it like the main spring. they were all black powder used just for wall hangers.tks hedge.

    National Arms, like National Firearms was a name used by Crescent. Thanks for pointing out they are bp and should not be used with modern smokeless shells!
