hey guys, i live in MA where we still have the assault weapon ban...i ran across an excellant condition cobray mac 12 in .380 which is legal to own here...legal because it has a paper trail in the state leadin back to 1998...the asking price is 600...finding a mac or a tec in this state is pretty rare...do you think its worth it? i dont know much about these guns just want sonething fun to shoot

    Well, just move to a 'non-commy' Gun Friendly state and buy anything you can afford , one of the reasons I left Illinois!!!!! & I love it here in Tn...but anyways , sounds kind of pricey to me???????????

    In MA it would definately be worth it. If you buy it and put it in the Want Ad you could turn it over pretty quick and make a few hundred bucks.

    As far as it being a "fun gun to shoot"; most Macs have a bad case of indigestion, especially those that are in .380cal.
    Mac10/11s in 9mm and 45acp don't hiccup as often.
    Ask the seller to accompany you to a range where you can test fire it before you buy.
    If you do buy it, consider finding a source for extractors, springs, and maybe a coupla hi-caps.

    ya i figured i could get at least my money back if i decide i dont like it and wanna sell it...but then gunnut like you said i heard they jam alot and im no gunsmith so i dont wanna be spending more than the things worth to repair it...and its in a local store so i doubt theyd let me test fire it...i just got my class A a few days ago and the tec9 i had my eyes on sold before i got my license...its just that guns like this are a rarity in marxachussetts
