Did Hopkins engrave Colt revolvers?

I found 2 revolvers that both have "Hopkins" engraved into the butt. The build dates are 1930 and 1948 and both are Officers Model Targets. I don't believe they were engraved at the first shipment but probably returned later to Colt to be engraved. Any information on Hopkins would be very helpful.
