Anybody know what the heck happened to 'scott wholesale' in Indian Trail N.C. ?????? we bought from them since the '70's , and now ???

  A few months ago they closed up the business,just like Walter Craig wholesaler.
  Times are tough in the wholesale business.
  Gun companies used to be run by "gun" people now they are run by people with College degrees in marketing.THat is the reason for the tremendous proliferation of new calibers,models,whether they are needed or worthwhile or not. Its the flavor of the week just like Coke,Pepsi ,McDonalds etc.Read the trade journals and see who is shown representing a lot of the mfgs. Its young men and a lot of women with college training in sales and marketing.
  It has caused a wholesaler to be snowed under with inventory and all his time spent trying to figure out which to buy.All your profit stays tied up in all the new goodies you may or may not sale,that you are more or less forced to buy.then its unbelievable how you cant get the basic oldies because production is tied up withall the new items. you lose a lot of business because you dont have basic items. The business has become a hard life.
  You will see more of the smaller ones giving up .
