need help to ID a revolver

a friend is wanting to ID and get the valve of a WW2 revolver. I think its a nagant but I haven't seen those up close before. it is blue with checkered dark wood grips and has the same checkered wood on the front side and rear side of the grips. on the left side is a dime size circle with a triangle in it and an arrow inside that with 1944 underneath. a 36 is stamped on the right side. there is a c and an 8 on left side under front sight. three stamps on right side - 2 smal squares and a circle - all have small marks in them with what appears to be the # 36 inside the small circle. I uploaded some pics as if to sell it so you can veiw the gun by going to auction# 33841249. please look at it and tell me; what, what caliber, value.

    You got it correct it's a Russian Military Nagant Revolver. Here's a excellent link from Russia that goes into detail on it.

    Lot of them have been imported recently. Unless your friends revolver is in really good shape, and it DOESN'T have importers markings chances are it's not worth a lot of money.

    I bought an unfired one about 1 1/2 years ago for $90. They aren't worth a whole lot, but they are an OK shooter. You can buy a .32ACP conversion cylinder for them which cuts down on ammo costs.
