S&W 610

I've just aquired a S&W 610 and am qurious as to why I get both good and bad comments about it. Thought maybe I'd get some response from you people, good or bad.

    I bought one when they were 1st offered by S & W back in 1989-90.

    I bought it for the growing sport of "bowling pin shooting" as another option to the .45acp and the weaker .357's that were popular with revolver competitors.

    Mine is a S/S, 6.5 inch barrel w/ unfluted cyclinder.

    The gun is built on the Smith "N" frame platform, but the weapon balances nicer than it's .44 caliber cousins.

    What a great shooting gun. Run 10mm loads for full power and/or use .40 cal. for lighter work. The gun really shines over most semi-auto pistols that fire these two calibers. No feeding ills, jams and ejection problems to speak of.

    I highly recomend picking one up and adding it to your own personal arsenal.

    This is an early 1989-90 6 1/2", fluted cylinder, with factory S&W combat grips. Real nice easy shooter.

    I believe they were first offered for a year or two back in 1980, I had one of the originals, but like a dope, traded it off. It was the most accurate revolver I ever fired, using CCI Blazer 200 FMJ ammo!

    I have a 610-2 6.5". By far it is my favorite handgun. They are terribly over built. I changed out the springs a while back, but have close to 25,000 rounds through mine with no repairs.

    I like the unfluted cylinder and the wood grips on yours, Wanna trade? [:D] [:D] S&W no longer manufactures any 10MMs,what a shame.[:(]
