barrel question on revolvers?

Is there any adverse condition when mounting a blue barrel to nickel or stainless gun or any other combination? Thank you, jeronimo.

    As long as the mating surfaces are the same material, no. If the mating surface is plated and the other is not (carbon steel) then there will be a galvanic reaction between the two dissimilar metals. It will corrode here at an accelerated rate. It is likely a very,very long term issue with firearms, but still an issue.

    Smith & Wesson has made many guns with blued barrels and cylinders with stainless frames or vice versa. [:)]

    I have lots of Stainless Steel barrels on blue receivers and have never seen any problem of any kind.

    Gun control is hitting what your aiming at.

    Blued and nickel are just external finishes. No problem other than a funny "look".
