what is this marlin worth?
Marlin 336 A in 30-30. Serial G 4034* bluing well worn wood okay except for strip (3/4 inch wide by 2 1/2 inch long) missing from stock behind receiver where the top of the stock meets the metal frame where the serial number is. Still in shooting condition. As always thanks for your replies.

Bert is dead on. That one has the birch stocks and is the economy model, currently selling at $299 new. They don't hold value as well as walnut stocked rifles, but mine is a fine shooter. 0 -
HE-DOG, I'LL BET THAT MARLIN IS A VERY EARLY M-336 WITH THE SER.# ON THE BOTTOM TANG, WALNUT STOCKS. ONE OF THE BEST MARLIN OFFERED, BUT WITH THE CONDITION AND BAD BUTT STOCK BERT'S $ EST. IS STILL RIGHT ON. 0
