binary exploding targets
has anyone used binary exploding targets. i'v been wanting to get some but dont know if there wearth the money

I've seen them a few times. don't know if I'd pay what I see them going for. 0 -
so far i'v seen them 20 for $89.00
i just dont know what kind of power they have.
i dont want to spend money on something thats just going to go pop0 -
Gimmicks that either burn or explode should be avoided.
At best, their performance will be underwhelming; at worst, they can cause death, disfigurement, &/or arrest & imprisonment. I can tell you some of the bad things that could happen, but others are beyond my imagination.
I suggest that you check out the Darwin Awards website.

By definition, you have a composition that is sensitive, and may provide you with un-wanted results.
If a gallon milk jug of water does not provide enough 'visual' for you, maybe you should try one of your other hobbies.0 -
Actually it takes a hit from a high power rifle round or a blasting cap to set it off, its a pretty simple composition. It won't explode unless you can compress the entire charge at once like a bullet would do. You can even light it with a match and it will slowly burn and fizzle. I've used a few of the Tannerite version and they are very powerful. They are safe to handle, but be sure to be far away when you shoot it. I set one on the roof of a junk car and it blew a 14" diameter hole in the roof, the metal was gone so obviously the explosion is very rapid. Don't place them on gravel or near any debris. Outside of that, they're a ton of fun[8D]

I have used an entire case of 20 with nothing but excellent results.
The Tannerite targets are binary type and are so stable there is no hazmat fee for shipping.
They come with a video explaining how they work and what it takes to set them off. They will go off only with hits from center fire rifles. .22's and pistols will not set them off. Fuzes and direct flame will not set them off.
They do not blow holes in the ground, they will clear loose material away from the point of blast about 2 feet, but rocks etc will travel pretty far. The best way is to hang them several feet above the ground. They do not start fires, but will actually put out a fire.
They are not illegal (yet) and are safe when used correctly. Iam sure there are all kinds of stories of people getting injured with fireworks and exploding targets, but you can also get injured by automobiles and farm machinery if used incorrectly.

I've used several cases of the Tannerite as well, and been very pleased with the results. Make sure you have a wide open area, as they will rattle windows on houses 1/4 mile away. Whenever I plan on shooting them, I notify the local Sheriff's Dept. ahead of time, and have never had a problem. They don't blow craters in the ground, but if placed in the fork of a tree, they will take a 10" diameter tree down. 0 -
go to Tannerite's web site they tell you all about it...this stuff is very and i mean very loud...no gimmick ..shoot it with any hi-power that is 2000fps or better...real nice stuff and %100 legal...go to google and punch in tannerite. 0
