Remington 512P info needed

I have an old Remington 512P that was my fathers when he was a boy.

Sprotmaster 512P

with markings:
an arrow pointing down followed by:

KRR

followed by a backword L

Does anyone know what this means? What year? Aproximate worth?
I don't want to sell it, but I would like to know what it is worth. I plan to give it to my sons one day, and I would like to know more about it.

    My reference notes that the code KRR, represents the manufacture date of 5/46.

    This particular model was made after the war, for quite a number of years.

    The B.B. values them between $85 & $200, depending on condition.

    I have one that was my fathers also. Mine is a little later than yours and has a grooved receiver for scope mounting. They shoot a lot better than they look. Mine will shoot 1" groups all day at 100 yards with remington target ammo. Parts are getting hard to find.
