Looking at a Browning Nomad and a Hi Standard Duramatic. How good are these guns for just everyday plinking?

Both have been out of production for years. The Nomad would be my choice. The Duramatic was High Standards bare bones economy model. If the Nomad is in factory original, very good condition or better, you'll never loose a dime on it. Belgian made Brownings are money in the bank, as far as collectors are concerned.

Either one would do great for plinking.

I can't speak to the Browning Nomad, but even the low end High Standards are extremely well fitted and built.
