My question is, I own a browning acera .30-06. I bought this gun brand new about 4 years ago. I have been told that these guns are quite rare in the states, but fairly popular over-seas. I love this gun, it is fast and accurate. I don't think browning makes the acera anymore, and they didn't make it very long, so I was wanting to know if it would be worth any money some day. Oh by the way the acera is a straight pull bolt action rifle. Any history on the gun would be nice also.

  B82, I remember quite a few years ago, I picked up a new Browning catalog and saw the listing for the Acera and was very interested in the straight pull bolt concept. I have a few Browning rifles and really like the Browning quality so I tried to get my hands on one at a local gun shop just to see if I liked the way it felt. I tried every gunshop and gunshow that came through for about a year and gave up on it. A friend of mine has his FFL and he could not locate one either. I have heard that the straight pull bolt guns are very popular in Europe just like you said. I think Blaser makes a straight pull also. I'd say your Acera is probably worth a good amount. The retail on the one in my catalog was around $800 and that was a few years back. They are very rare around here. No one has ever seen one other than in catalogs.

  Hey! I'm from europe (Holland) and i also have the Acera in 30-06...
  Never seen anyone here with the same gun in the past years, so it also seems to be rare here...
  
  DO you use factory loads, and if so which ones? How accurate shoots your acera? I'm not that a good shooter myself but i think i can improve something with the loads. Im using Norma Nosler BST 150grs now (www.norma.cc) an can shoot groups of 1.5 - 2 inch
