WAC
I recently saw a .25 caliber pistol by MAB, and I'm curious about the markings. On one side it was marked "Made in France expressly for WAC." The letters "WAC" were much taller and thinner than the rest of the lettering. I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me if they have seen or have any knowledge about this marking. Thanl you.

Winfield Arms Co. was the American importer/distributor of the French made MAB pistols. I believe this dates to the 1950's.

Thank you Rufe-Snow. With your answer, I looked up Winfield Arms Co. in The Standard Catalog of Firearms. According to this volume, Winfield was a name used by the H & D Folsom Arms Co. I think, however, the gun dates from the 1930's, not the 1950's. 0 -

There's ( 2 ) Winfield Arms Co's. The first is the one your referring to, trade name used on Crescent Arms shotguns, circa early 20th Century.
The one on MAB pistols is a importer/distributor located in Los Angeles, circa 1950's? See page 128, ( upper left ), "Standard Catalog of Firearms", 2005 edition.0
