value of Colt Delta Elite

I have the opportunity to purchase a Colt Delta Elite National Match in Stainless Steel Like new in the box. Any thoughts on what it's worth?

    I'm not aware that Colt made such a gun. If you mean a Gold Cup, then I'd say $1,200-1,400 would be the range.

    Delta Elite was the 10mm 1911.
    Value? Hmmm...depends if the frame is cracked (especially above the slide stop hole or not! [;)]
    They got a pretty bad rep for cracking there.

    If you can get it for 1100/1200, I recommend you do so if it is in original condition and like new. My gunsmith says they should go for about 900, but I do not know anyone who has gotten one for that. The DE Gold Cups are being priced very high. Rediculous is the word that comes to mind. I bid on a NIB blued DE Gold Cup and it sold for 1932 on GB. A SS enhanced Gold Cup sold for over a thousand, but it had been altered for an extended grip safety and could not be returned to factory original condition. Just look here and at some of the other sites. A Gold Cup is hard to find and it is my understanding from folks here that not many were produced. I put a King's recoil buffer system in mine and am going to shoot it. Be sure you look at the gun. I was fortunate to buy my altered one from a real good guy. He made the deal good. He got no relief from the one he got it from. I see the guy has some on AA and GA. Would not touch anything he had unless I had a smith to go over it based on my seller's experience.

    I've been wanting to buy one of these for a while now. I have two of the much more rare Springfield Armory Omega Match's. I've been thinking of selling/trading to get one of these National Match. I sure hope the Gold Cup shoot better than the standard Delta Elite.

    I can't give you a real straight answer on the value of what to give for it, but cowboy is probably in the ballpark. It will probably go for a bit more than that. The 10mm is kind of a niche market as you may know. If you find the right buyer the sky is the limit but 10's will often sit on the shelf or in the safe for a bit before they move. I say that as one of the biggest 10mm fans on this board...

    If you decide not to get it, I'd appreciate a chance at it...
