    I'm planning on getting one real soon. Shot one a couple times and it's just plain fun to shoot.
    Is there anything other semi-auto out there that I could pick up for $100-$150, load up on 1000 rounds rounds of cheap Wolf ammo for $100 or so, and enjoy shooting it as much? I can't think of anything.
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Gobucks,

    With the SKS you can rock n roll. It is hard to beat for economy and reliability. It is a great all around plinker and small game (up to deer) rifle that is pleasant to shoot and reasonably accurate.

    The only other semi-auto that might fall into this class is not a rifle but the CZ-52 pistol. For about $100.00 you can get yourself a new semi-auto pistol that is accurate, reliable, and hits hard. Then again you can spend a little more money and try the AK-47 rifle which is also a great rifle.

    There are plenty of surplus bolt rifles such as the Mosin Nagant, Lee Enfields, and Mausers that are equally fun to shoot as well.

    Two guns I enjoy are the Marlin Camp 9 and the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 in 9mm. Ammo is cheap $10/100 at Wal-mart and both guns take high cap mags. Try one sometime, they're loads of fun to shoot and their acuracy will surprise you.

    Say what you will about their lousy handguns, many people really enjoy shooting Hi Point carbines.

    If it moves, salute it. If it doesn't move, pick it up. If you can't pick it up, paint it.

    There are lots of good surplus pistols on the market for $100-$150

    Personally I like the ultra-light stock, but to make it a folder and use 30 round mags you have to keep your imported parts count at 10 or less.

    Agree with tommy 2 pockets,hi-point 9mm carbine,great fun no problems at all after over 3000 rnds thru it,and several coyottes,best $150 cheepie i .ll ever get and ugly as sin but a blast to shoot.Thanks Paul

    Thanks for all the replies. Don't need any more pistols. I do, of course, but not right now. An SKS it is, gonna look for one tomorrow. Considered the HiPoint carbine too. It's on the list.

    I know this is old but I just figured I would reply. First off Wolf may not be the type of bullets you are looking for. You know the stuff that guns come in. That grease that takes forever to get off, most all green cased/brass ammo is coated in it.[}:)] The idea is the ammo will last forever. Your best bet is to buy ammo online at different web sites or go to a gun show and shop around. I just got 1000 rounds non-crosive for under $100 and they are pre-stripper cliped.[:D] I am planning on getting some more next time there is a gun show. Hope this helps.
