22 pump

I just purchased a new model 62 pump 22 LR and it will not put a new bullet into the camber. I shoot the one thats in there and then pump and nothing happens. Is there an ajustment to this rife? Thanks, Catfish

    What do you mean, "nothing happens?"

    The slide won't move? If it does, is the empty case extracted and ejected? If it is, is it a failure to feed? Does the lifter bring up the next round?

    Is it a Winchester or a Rossi? How old is it? Is it in good shape?

    What ammo are you using? Some rifles made for .22 LR will not feed shorts. Are you sure it isn't a .22 magnum? Or .22 WRF?

    It will not put the new bullet in the camber. It is a brand new pump 22 by Tauras.

    Catfish, a lot of us need to SEE something done, we can't just READ about.

    Take the rifle back to the store where you bought it, and ask them to SHOW you how to use it. Also ask them to SHOW you how to take the rifle apart, and how to clean it.

    A lot of new guns need cleaning before shooting.You'd be surprised at the gunk and shavings that get left in there.
    Aren't all those rifles take-downs?just unscrew the big screw on the reciever and the innards will be staring at ya.

    My 15 year old Rossi is VERY finicky about ammo length.If the gun seems to function..the lifter comes up as the slide is pulled to the rear...it may be the ammo.
