Another Erma LA 22 Luger question
Took the new toy out today and tried to shoot it but got frequent jams. The rounds most of the time got stuck because the nose was feeding up to high above the chamber. I have heard taht the clips on these Luger 22s are usually the culprit and the gun seems rather clean. For ammo I was using thunderbolt remington 100 packs. Anyone faced this before.

Wehrmacht_45: Try using standard velocity ammo; some of the high speed stuff doesn't work well at all. You'll have to try different brands to see which one your gun likes.

Took my newly accuired Stoeger Luger 22lr out today on it's second run. The first was filled with failures to extract. Polished the chamber and took it back out today. It went the same way. I was using some bulk Federal .22lr stuff. Switched to the CCI min-mags and the failures all but stopped. Instead of failure to extract I was getting some stove pipes. Asked the smithy on duty what he thought and he sujested that I polish the chamber. He wasn't impressed with the job I did. Got to admit I went light on the poliching as it's easier to polish twice and get it right vs. doing it too much the first time and making a mistake.
Thanks to Hairy I was able to dissasemble it and access the chamber easier.[:D]

Mine likes regular Remington and Aguila .22 LR. Will work like machine. 0 -
these are real touchy about the feed lips on the clip...softer metal...need to be tweaked just right....from experience....fun gun 0 -
I heard there are specs for the mag feed lips, does anyone know them or where they are online? 0
