remington scoremaster 511

good morning all,

i came into possession of a scoremaster. to the left of the bolt on the barrell there is ef 68. i have found different information about date of manufacture. it also needs a rear sight, butt plate and a magazine. i asked about the parts on wtb.

any help appreciated.

  You have a rifle well worth fixing. The EF is the date code. E is October, and F is 1937 or 1959. F was used for both years. I would think 59 is the correct one for a 511. You can buy parts from many places on the internet. Good luck.

  Had one as a kid,right about 1959 actually.
