What scope for Ruger SRH .480?
I would like to scope my new Ruger Super Redhawk chambered in .480 with a 7.5" barrel. I was considering a red dot scope but will abandon this idea if advised not to go that route. I want to keep my price tag below $150.00 but don't want the optics busted up after 50 or less rounds on a cheaper line. Also, should I keep the supplied 1" Ruger rings or go to aftermarket 30mm rings. Your experience on this is much appreciated.

when I had my SRH 480 i had a bushnell Holo sight on it , and it worked very well, all you need is a weaver type base 0 -
I put a 1" leupold gilmore on mine and love it. You just need to get a ruger extension ring for it. Its small compact and I personally have'nt had any problems. I also have one with a leupold 2x. I wouldnt use anything higher than 2x. You can find the gilmore on e-bay for a reasonable price. 0
