fabrica nacional de toledo 9mm ammo ?

need too know the origin of the above listed ammo.came in brown 25 round boxes.headstamp is FNT 1952.is this stuff corrosive? any info is apprec thanks don

    If it's the Spanish stuff I think it is? Your problem is not only with corrosive primers. At that point in time, when Franco was still the head cheese of Spain, 9mm Largo was their cartridge for pistols & submachine guns etc. If it is the 9mm Largo cartridge, it won't chamber in conventional 9mm Luger handguns. Although it will sometimes work in pistols chambered for 38 Auto/Super, depending on how sloppy the chamber and bolt face dimensions are.

    thanks for the link ,i went and looked the headstamp up and sure enough its spainish.but its diffently 9mm para.do you think its corrosive?any other info is apprec.thanks don

    Don, I cannot substantiate my opinion, but I would bet a large sum of money it is corrosive. The US - aside from .30 Carbine, didn't switch to n/c until a few years later and most of the European nations adapted after that.

    I expect what you have is the 9mm Browning Long ("Largo") - if the case length is 0.790" - 0.800" it is, anyway. The bullet itself will be much more blunt in profile than the typical 9x19, which has a 0.740 - 0.760" case length and a more oval bullet profile. The Spanish loaded the 9mm Largo for the Astra pistol, not for any indigenous SMG. Only the Swedes and Belgians used the 9mm Browning Long for SMGs - and I believe the firearms involved were not terribly common in their respective services. If what you have is the 9x19, then all bets are off - it could be almost any sort of loading - but the 25 round box is suggestive of handgun rather than SMG.
