harpers ferry 1833

First of all I am a neophyte as far as firearms are concerned but would like some info on a "musket" my father acquired. It has "harpers ferry 1833" and an eagle inscribed on it and he also has the horn for the powder. Any idea on its history and its value in good condition?

  It would be best if you could post quality pictures, as your Dad's Musket probably was originally manufactured as a U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock Musket, ( Smoothbored ). Many though were converted in the years prior to the Civil War to rifled, percussion, configuration.
  
  Actually it would be best to take it to a knowledgable and honest local collector, or dealer for a hands-on inspection. As theres so many potential varations and alterations that have commonly occurred to these arms over the years, it's difficult to assess from photos.
