Help! Can anyone identify this?

I'm new to this board but here goes. I recently aquired this from my grandfathers estate and am very curious about it. Anyone know where I could find some info about it? I googled H & AK it with no success. Thanks

    Looks like a late 1800's single shot .22. There were a lot of companies making little single shots around the turn of the century, I can't find that particular pistol in my catalogs, but Rufe might have some info on it.

    It's a "Flobert Type" pistol. The same general pattern were made in Europe as early as the 1850's up until the 20th Century.

    As it doesn't have sights, I believe it was probably made for salutes or as a blank firer, for holidays, weddings etc.

    is there any other type of marking I should look for that might help to identify it? Also, do you think the handle was just as it is or had wood handgrips? Thanks.

    It probably had wood or synthetic grips of some kind. If it was specifically made as a blank or salute pistol, it might not have any proof or makers marks other then those markings on the frame.

    The "H & A" might be Hopkins & Allen. Don't know what the "K h t" (?) means.

    On the other side the "15 CT"......the "CT" might be for Connecticut. Hopkins & Allen were located in Norwich, CT.

    On the other hand....maybe not. [:D]
