model 94 mystery
I need some help here have a Winchester 1894 carbine no saddle ring standard set up 20"barrel in 32spl. Weird thing is serial # starts with an L gun is pre 64 for sure, some people say might be Eastern Carbine how can you tell difference?

It would really help if you had posted the entire serial number, but I can positively tell you that it does not start with an "L"... it is actually a "1". True "Eastern Carbines" were not made until the mid to late 1920s. Standard SRCs could be special ordered sans the saddle ring, but they need to be verified either by a Cody Museum factory letter, or through hands on personal examination by someone who knows exactly what they are looking at.
