AK help
I have an AMD 65 clone. It was made before the ban lifted. Therefore it has no folding stock. I would like to go to a galil folder or something like that. My rec is not notched on the side for a side-folder but could i put one on. What would I need and is any special work needed.

i have a romak ak that i converted from a 10rd to a high cap ak. it came with the thumbhole stock which i am replacing with the tapco telescope stock. now i know i need a pistol grip with the screw and nut but i am wondering the best way to install a aimpoint 2x red dot on the weapon? should i use a new forearm with a rail? or the detachable side mount?(the rifle has the scope adapter on it already) the aimpoint is only 1" so any 1" rings will work.looking for sugggestions on how to finish this rifle.what does everyone think of the tapco ak products? thanks 0 -

Don't modify the reciever. Thats a NO NO. Best thing to do is remove the stock and see what type of folder will go in. Some of the new ones may be a direct fit. I installed a Romanian sidefolder to my Mak 90. It was not a direct fit. The Mak90 reciever walls are thicker than the Romanian. I had to modify the side folder to fit. I'm not familiar with the Galil folder. Try Tapco and K-var for some comparisons. Some of the decripiction and information at those sites will help.

I have an Ace folder on my SAR1 no modification was needed to the receiver. Check out www.aceltdusa.com 
I have the older style with block ace has a newer one that fits flush to the gun.
