rare gun or not?

i have a gun that my grandfather brought back from vietnam during the early days that he gave to me. he said it was a vietnamese hand made musket that was set off by a widled down kitchen match head. it shoots a 9mm pistol case filled full of concrete or lead.the gun appears to be made out of a piece of pipe and whatever thay could make.is this gun rare?i know that the tribes in the hills of vietnam used these guns alot. any information or value on this gun would be greatly appreciated.

    There were lots of these types of homemade weapons manufactured by and for the VC or Viet Minh during the last throes of the French occupation and into the early stages of the US involvement. It's a rare gun but hardly valuable unless you can prove that it belonged to Uncle Ho.

    what if i got written vertification from my grand father or possibly the documents he needed to bring it back(if there was any)and maybe a picture of him in vietnam. if that is not enough what do i need possibly to prove it authentic?

    It's a jungleshop gun, they're all unique. I doubt anyone will question the origin of it, but to assess a value would be difficult. Are you trying to sell it or are you just curious?

    Guns like this are typically called zip guns. They usually only have value to those who made them and they made them to help them accuire a real gun.

    But, hang on to it, it's a good conversation piece.

    It might be well to amass as much documentation as you can. It could protect you from gun grabbers bent on confiscating and destroying your assault zip gun. Historical and family provenance could perhaps help protect you and it.
