Moly coated match bullets..........
What is the reason for moly coating bullets?

Reduced friction as well. This may/may not get you some velocity. The accuracy comes from the "tighter fit" of the moly on the bullet I've heard.

Isn't the Moly coating hazardous??? I know they sell it but, they also sold asbestos for years.

Hazardous? Yep. Eat more than 100 a day and you will get sick.[;)]
Seriously, in some firearms they perform better than standard bullets. I have a Springfield rifle that I never could get to hold tight groups until I tried moly coated bullets. Now it will shoot 5 shots in an inch consistentley.
Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons.

Have run it and never been satisfied yet. I am sticking with "naked" pills and am about to remove the moly from a box of 142gr sierra match kings (500) with a chemical, so I can shoot them without. It is supposed to go further between cleaning due to fouling and the subsequent loss of accuracy (which CAN be proven). However, the cleaning process once it becomes fouled is tedious. I 'll pass on molebdenum disulfide.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

What chemical are you using to get that stuff off your bullets with? I have a couple hundred that I want to take it off of. I didn't think it could be taken off.

rimfire72, nononsense gave me some products to look at but they are stored in an e-mail at home. Look in the catalogs like midway and I beleive there should be some in that one. I think it may have even been called "moly majic", but I could be wrong. If you don't come up with anything, I'll see if I can find it at home or inquire with nononsense again. HTH
Moly can be removed as I have read threads about it in the past.
