Is there a round called a 9MM Limited??
I was looking around E-Bay for a barrel to play with for my High Standard and ran across a barrel for my 1911 that caught my attention. In the text the seller said he was selling his 38 super compensated barrel because he switched to 9MM limited. I cant find anything about a new 9MM limited round. Did I misunderstand him or is there such a thing and where can I find any info?

Sounds like an IPSC shooter. He might be trying to say he switched from his compensated barrel (which would put him in Open class) to an uncompensated 9mm barrel (which he could shoot in Limited class).
Not some new strange variant of 9mm, just a different competitive class.

Para Ordnance had two 9mm pistols called the "Limited", the TX189SR & the TX189ER.
One was stainless, the other "stealth" finish. 18+1 capacity.
2004 model, I believe.

Thanks guys. I saw the 9MM limited pistols in my searches but I think MPolans hit the nail on the head. The seller said "he switched to 9MM limited and the compensator was not needed". Thanks for setting me straight on that. Thought maybe someone had a new bullseye round or something.

Quite a few IPSC shooters in the "open" class are switching from the .38 Super to the 9mm "major". These are both compensated barrels with red dot sights. The 9mm. cartridges are being loaded to "major-factor" closely resembling similarly loaded .38 Super. The main reason is the easy availability of once fired 9mm. brass as opposed to the same for the .38 Super, and the lowering of the "major" criteria.
Along the same line, many IPSC shooters are starting to shoot the 9mm "factory" loads both in production and "limited" because of the cheap prices for the ammo. According to the rules, the minimum caliber for "major" in the limited class is .40 S&W. While you can shoot 9mm. it will be classified as "minor" caliber and the shooter will be penalized. Many Limited shooters prefer using high cap 1911's which by ruling cannot be used in the "production" class, but will result in their being classified/placed as a minor caliber when sooting 9mm. While the "open" class allows the "hotloading" of the 9mm. and the .38 Super for a "major" classification, the same is not possible in the "Limited" class.
