Price of 1860 Colt
Got it in a trade last night and wanted to know what do you think, it was made in 1868 I believe. It locks up and cycles fine I want to shoot it at least once. Advice[?] Comments[?] Ideas[?] Worth[?] I never believe the blue book even though I buy it every year, (only because, once I called and Fjstad HIMSELF answered the phone)Whadda ya think. Serial on frame is 175649 and you can read the other.

My references list an 1860 in that condition (NRA Fair) at from about $600 to around $1300 (like you said, the price guides just give you a rough guess at a gun's value). I've seen guns similar to yours sell in eastern Pa. at around $1000.

Thanks, I have seen them in lesser cond. sell for $2000.00 in my area. I guess it's just a matter of need vs $$$

And don't forget...location, location, location! Lots of collectors in our area, Thunder. You might want to have Mikio Sanno at the Gundoctor in Roselle take a look at it for you. I was there last Friday, and he was around. He knew Junior Bell and those types back in the quick draw days, and put together some really fine shooters himself!

I thought his daughter was running the shop. I used to go to the lake county show and see her sorting mags (she was about 8 or 9 yrs old) maybe even younger. I used to go there for all my M1 carbine needs, I know he was one of the best when it came to them. I may have to pop in there again, the last time I war there I bought a used R1A1 for short money.

Just spoke with colt and they can only get me a letter for serial numbers under 140,000[V]
