Steyr calibre mystery solved!!!

A very wise person once told me that it is a smart person who can laugh at himself! Well I don't know about the smart part of it, BUT I thought I'd share the laugh with everyone who tried to help me out. The number one reason why the 8x56R ammo didn't fit my 1890 Steyr IS... because it's really an 1891 6.5 Carcano. Oohh Well!!!
I just thought you'd all get a kick outta this. Thanks again for all your responses. And in particular, to "Nononsense" for the OWS ammo info.

Not so sure you got it right now. I would bet you need 6.5 DUTCH (6.5x53r mannlicher) ammo! At least that is what I shoot in my STEYER. Tom
