Old Marlin 94 25-20 Questions ???
Hi - Can anyone tell me about this old Marlin. It says Model 94, is it an 1894 ? It is serial # 4002. When was it made ? receiver is drilled and tapped, is this original ? It has a 20 inch octagon barrel with short magazine. Is the barrel length correct ? Also, what is an estmate value. Thanks, Pete

nice pictures, yes you have an 1894 marlin. good gun but I cann't tell you if the barrel lenght is original. value if original and a good bore +-$800 0 -
How can I find out if it is the original barrel length ? Also, is there a web sight to determine date of manufacture ? 0 -
You can go to armscollectors.com and find Marlin manufacture dates. This site does say that Marlin #'s and dates are sometimes out of order; either you left out a digit or the # is way out of date, since it indicates a model 94 was shipped in 1883! I'm a Winchester and Colt guy, so maybe there's a key to the puzzle of which I'm unaware. At any rate, I'd go to the Marlin collectors website-they'll actually know what they're talking about! -Asa 0
