Looking for the ultimate .22 pistol

Hi,

I have sm 41 and a p210 with the .22 conversion. I am looking for the best .22 made out there; regarding feel, construction etc. Could you experts inspire me?

    I think most people will tell you that the Ruger MKII is the most reliable and durable .22 out there.

    What goes up must come down---(on someones head if you're lucky)

    Unless your talkin' some super-ultimate,exotic mega-buck competition pistola,I'd have to agree with lead.I love my Slab Side.Although I like my Browning Buckmark Ultimate Silhouette too. If I could only have one,it would be a very difficult decision.

    For a general purpose .22, I'd also go with a Ruger Mk II.

    However, if you want an Olympic class, absolute top of the line competition gun, I'd go with the Pardini SP NEW. See the link below:

    Find yourself a nice used High Standard (106, 107 Series) with pushbutton takedown. I own a Ruger Bull Brl.MKII, and agree it's a nice gun for the money (value), but the trigger can't compare to by older High Standards, nor is it as accurate, and it is a pain in the ass to field strip! The WORST! The S&W 41, High Standards, and every .22 I own is easier to take down and reassemble than the Ruger. BUT, for the $$$, the Ruger is a fine .22.....just not my first choice. Many here would argue that the S&W 41 that you own IS the best currently manufactured .22 made. Great feel, balance, light crisp trigger, and ACCURATE! Just a little finicky when it comes to what it likes to eat.

    Hello if you have a sig 210 with conversion unit you have one of the highest price and quality on the market however if you look in bullseye competion none of the top shooters use them. Most past National champions use a HAMMERLI 208S this said I like the older high standards and one of my favorite is a Kart 22 conversion on a 1911 frame .It is all steel has a way of locking barrel to the frame unlike CINER COLT KIMBER etc and will shoot groups on par with any pistol ever made that is a repeater not FREE PISTOL. You can put a different barrel shroud and then use a red dot or use the shroud that comes on it and has great BOMAR sights."PRAISE THE HARD-BALL GUN"

    Most accurate .22's I have had the opportunity to fire were a Freedom Arms 252 and a Springfield Armory .45 frame with a Marvel .22 conversion kit.

    I'll throw in my "expert" opinion of the Ruger MKII. I tried for two weeks to trade mine for a single six, and the deal just never came together. In the end, I went to the gunshop and got my MKII back. Y'know what? I've never been so relieved. It's wonderfully accurate and the trigger gets smoother with every 100 rounds. Mine is a 5-1/2 bull bbl that I top with a B-Square mount and Tasco Pro-Point when I feel like hefting the weight (or when I'm prairie doggin'). It's fun, accurate and inexpensive. To me, personally, that's ideal. Now my brother's model B High Standard, on the other hand. It's just dreamy. And as a heterosexual male, I don't throw the word "dreamy" around lightly.

    I like my Rugers but seriously, they're not in the same league as an S&W 41! If you look around you can find used 41's in the $450 to $550 range and you won't be disappointed.Still, I owned Rugers first and they are really good guns. You'll probably shoot a S&W 41 alot better though.
