30-06 bullet..?
Hey hope u can help me a littel about this bullets.
I need a good bullet for roedeer, but it have to be strong enough to hold together when im shooting elk, wildboar ones in a while.
I had Nosler Accubond, Nosler Partition, Norma TXP or Norma Oryx in my mind.
Most Accubond but what will u chose.
It have to give a foof effekt in roedeer even with lungshot.
And skill be good enough for elk and so on.

The Nosler partition is hard to beat. It will open up on a broadside ribcage hit on a small deer and drive through a bull elk's shoulder bones. Some of the newer designs offer improved ballistic performance but that is only realized at very long range. I'm just kind of old fashioned and stick with what I know works.

The Nosler Partition is hard to beat for a good all around bullet. Shoot the light for caliber partitions for smaller game and the heavy for caliber bullets for the bigger/tougher game.

I have seen far too many nosler bullets fail by fragmenting. I refuse to load them for myself or anyone else. Instead I recommend the Barnes TSX. This bullet is a very impressive performer. Weight retention is near 98% where my experiences with jacketed bullets of the best construction such as the Speer Grand Slam retain about 85%. For example, I loaded a 140gr TSX on a 270 Win for a friend to go elk hunting in Colorado. His elk was taken at about 200 yds up hill. The small bullet exited the elk and lodged in a tree. He took the time to dig it out. I weighed it at 138.8gr after an elk and an aspen tree.
The accuracy of the TSX is also unmatched in my loads. I have not found another bullet that shoots as good in all 7 different hunting calibers that I load. That same 270 shot about .5 MOA!
The only drawback is these are spendy! My hand loads end up near $1.00 ea.
I'm sold. I'll never shoot anything else again. Please keep this bullet in mind.0 -
Good Evening Christian; First off We have to clear the air and make doubley sure We're talking about the same Animals...Having spent many Years in Europe I found that What We here in North America call Elk is called a Moose in Germany and several other European Countries! Also that our Elk are Stag in Europe.....Your Roedeer are the same size as Blacktail Deer here in America.....Boar are somewhat Smaller in Europe....as where some of our Boar are twice as big.....and this means Honest Boar....Not WILD or FERAL Pigs...which have been known to reach over 1000 Pounds...HOGZILLA weighed in at 1150 lbs....and was taken a year or so ago down in Florida...Lots of Feral Pigs in Texas and New Mexico and a few have been taken in Arizona...A Friend of Mine took a 400 Pounder last year down near Tucson...Big Boar...Nice Tusks...and is being Mounted as We speak..
So...now that We have that out of the Way....We can discuss Bullets..
Just what Gun are You going to be reloading For...? and whats the availability of Projectiles for You to choose from?...A Friend of Mine is a Government Hunter in a European Country...and has to Play Holy Heck to get Bullets from the USA...Primers are a real Pain also...and all this is Sanctioned by the Government....and still He has to account for every Bullet, Empty Case and every Primer....So, Let us Know what You're up against....and We can work from there!...I wish You Well.....Best Regards.......

Hmm, is shall use the bullets for huntinge Roe deer (Black tail)
And i just seek a good bullets there will make a if the point of impact sits in the lung.
I shall use it for hunting red deer, mosse the are smaller than the Canadian moose(in Sweden) boar and fallow deer.
But most Roe deer (Black tail) but im looking for a bullet there will do a fine job aswell in mosse and so on.

Christian A welcome to the gunbroker forum! Everybody covered a lot of good points and they are pretty much right on, I would like to relate to you some of my experiences with 30 cal. bullets. I have a .30/06 that is rather finicky on accuracy and all I can get it to shoot accurately is 180 grain spitzer boat tail bullets. I started off with Sierra 180 grain Spitzer Boat tails and got it loaded to where it would shoot 1" groups at 100 yards. I shot lots of game with this bullet and never had any difficulty with it. I've taken Mountain Goat, Bighorn Sheep, Deer ( mule deer ), Pronghorn Antelope, and Elk. Nearly all 1 shot kills and never recovered a bullet ( they all exited the animal). One elk was a 410 yard shot and put him right down with an exit wound. I've tried to change to other bullets like Speer Grand Slams, and Nosler Partitions but accuracy dropped off to un acceptable levels for me. Last fall I did load some Nosler Accubond bullets with decent accuracy and took a huge bull Elk at 180 yards. The bullet passed through the shoulder and hit the bottom of the spine dropping him instantly and I recovered the bullet under the skin on the far side, the 180 grain Nosler Accubond weighed 114 grains when it was recovered. I was very surprised that it didn't exit as the Sierra bullets had done in the past. I think the next bullet I will try out is the Barnes Triple Shock as I've had fantastic results with it in lighter calibers. As always though I will continue to use the Sierra bullets as my standby.[;)] 0 -
For an all-purpose .30-06 bullet I would have to recommend Sierra Gameking 165 Gr. BT spitzer. Should do a good job on anything from antelope to elk. Every game animal I have ever killed has been shot with Sierra Gamekings. All with one shot, none ran more than 20 yards. I use Gamekings in my 6mm, .25-06, .280, .308, .30-06 and .375 Ultra. I also think Sierra has some of the best quality control and reloading Data.
