Rare proof mark or maker logo?

Hi All,
I'm new at this, but when talking to an antique gun dealer, I discovered my pinfire revolver has a mark which he had seen only once before on one of his revolvers which he showed me. He couldn't identify the maker of his or my revolver and really wants to know who made this mark. He has looked in many books but doesn't use the web.
As soon as I find out how to post photo(s) here, I'll post one of this mark, but, meanwhile it is best described as "two zeros, with an arrow running through them, pointing to the front of the barrel" or "an '8' with a vertical arrow through it's middle, pointing up" and placed on the top of the barrel where it meets the frame or on the side of the frame. The dealer's pistol also had another mark, described as "a crown over a crown over a 'U''". No other maker ID name on either gun, but some numbers.
Any ideas, anyone?

Can't help you with the "8 & arrow" marking. The "Crown U" is probably German it was used from the 1890's to W W II, as a final or difinitve proof on firearms.
Here are instructions for posting pictures.
First thing you need is a site to host your picture. What I mean by that is that you will need to upload your pictures to a web site that will host(display) them for you. You should not use your hard drive to host pictures for safety sake. Use www.photobucket.com to host your pictures.
After you have uploaded your pictures to the site that will host them for you(per their directions), the next thing you will want to do is go to the picture hosting site and view the picture. While you are viewing the picture, right click on it and you'll see another window that should pop up, now click on "properties" and copy the picture URL. If you know how to "copy & paste" this will be a piece of cake.
Now that you have the picture URL and your ready to post your picture. Do the following, use the following code except take out the "*" asterisk. The "*" asterisk is used here only so you can see the code. In other words if I posted the code without the "*" asterisk you will see a picture instead of the code. Anyways use this code to post your picture..
