ID of S&W?
What model is this? and around when was it produced? It has no markings other than S&W.
I got it from my great uncle. He bought it from the sheriff of Paducah,KY. The story is it was used to rob a bank and the robber did not survive the experience. He bought it around 1920.

The early "Hand Ejectors" had the serial number stamped in numerous places. Butt (take the grips off), extractor star, yoke, barrel flat, cylinder face etc.
There's always the chance also, that if it was used for criminal purposes and had originally been stolen, a attempt was made to remove the serial numbers.0 -
i can date it approx by the factory non-medallion grips which were used 1917-1929. by the way i used to live near paducah and had a relative who was a lawman there.that area was pretty wild during the 20`s-30`s. regards dux 0 -

If you got the serial number correct? It would be a 2nd Model Hand Ejector, dating to 1903 or 1904. Per the S & W Book.0
