.44 magnum ammunition

I was wondering what some of your opinions would be as to what is best as far as a specific brand of ammunition would be for deer hunting. I am aware of winchesters "Platinum & Partition Gold" Remingtons "Core Lok", Hornadys "XTP" , Speers "Gold Dot" and PMC's "Star Fire". I've had some experience with "Partition Gold,XTP & Gold Dot. If there is some I am missing let me know. I am looking only for Factory Loads and ones specific to Whitetail Deer and Best Accuracy. Thank You.[?]

  Any 240gr SP in the vitals will take a whitetail deer cleanly out to 100-125yds. You shooting a handgun or rifle?

  Sorry I forgot to mention it would be in a 6" barrel revolver.

  Be sure to use a soft point, not a hollow point. Hollow points can expand too rapidly and not penetrate deep enough, by using a soft point heavy bullet you will still get plenty of damage and shock and also get penetration which is very desireable in case you hit bone or have to take your shot at a not so perfect angle.[;)]
